Ok i gave up on the Bong cooler. Dont feel like drilling holes in the walls...
I found a Copper Car Rad(not heater core) for free from some Fiat or some shit i want to use that now :D

What water block and pump should i get from the listed below:
D-Tek FuZion
Swiftech Apogee GT
White Water

Swiftech MCP655
EHEIM 1250 230V
HYDOR SELTZ L30-230V

MCP655 + Fuzion? Is the pump going to be enough? with the car rad and all?

Fuzion + MCP655 is the best all around combo. GTX is better if you're willing to bow your block.

Get the Eheim 1250. There are plenty of AC switch relays available so you can have it turn on with your computer. Alternatively you can just leave the pump running all the time. The reliability of Eheim pumps is legendary whereas the DDC series ain't so reliable.

Sweet ! pic pic pic !

take it to a rad shop have have them "boil it out" and leak test it. Then flush it out good when you get it home, run a water hose in it for 1/2 hour, mix up a guart of white distilled vinegar and a couple of gallons of distilled water and plug the outlet and fill it up with that for over nite, and probally some other things I cant think of atm.

How big is the radiator? Imagining a car radiator, I'd think it would be pretty big... I'm a small block Chevy guy, though so I'm probably used to alot more radiator than a Fiat would have. I'd like to see a picture of it, out of curiosity if for no other reason.

If it's big enough you could use it as a radiator/reservior. Set up your loop so that you fill the radiator, it feeds into the pump's intake, the pump pushes through your waterblocks and then back into the radiator.

Gotta just chime in here for a second... You make it seem like ALL Laing pumps have had a fair level of failures... It was the DDC lineup and the CSP mag's that were prone to failure. This isn't true at all for the Laing D5 (MCP655, Danger Den D5 etc.).

Eheim 1250 would be just as good as the D5, but the D5 is DC powered (molex) and just as powerful. It's also quite a bit smaller, which is a nice plus.

Oops

Yes that would be correct, the Laing D5 ain't to bad of a pump. Kind of fugly though. :p

FWIW, I have had a MCP655 for over a year now. Not a single hiccup. And mine is as quiet as can be.

And as Arcygenical said, it is DC powered, so just hook it up to the PS. It also has a speed pot, if you feel the need to "slow the flow" at bit.

The only "down" side (for some) is that it has 1/2" barbs, so you are kinda stuck with 7/16" or 1/2" hose coming into and going out of the pump.

meh. I've never met a "good looking" pump. For some reason, they are just not my type! :D

In my setup, my pump is in a closed (no windows) external waterbox. So, who cares what it looks like?;)

Am I the only one that thinks the Fuzion is ugly as hell? It looks like a fat toad with barbs stickin out of it.

I would go with an Apogee, but... just a preference.

lol if i was going for looks i woudnt use a car rad :p
500x380x45mm

Will post pics later have to go to work now.

a few pics of the rad taken with a shitty cell phone:

Woah! Looks like quite a bit of build-up from what I can see in the inlet/outlet. Don't know what cleaner would be best, but use something to remove that "crap".;)

I doubt you would want that gunk circulating thru your loop.:(

Im gonna take it to a car rad shop(or whatever its called)
They are going to open it, clean every single pipe
flush boil whatever
put the fittings
etc etc

That thing is going to require a RD-30 just to get water through it......

OMG! Suggesting a RD-30! Sacreligious! I cannot believe my eyes!

j/k...:p

I agree, tho. It might take a pretty strong pump. The quality of the pixs is bad, tho, so it is a little hard to tell.

I think it should be fine if you use it like a reservior. Draw fluid out of the bottom, pump it through your loop, and then into the top of the radiator. Gravity will get the water through the radiator.

I found some Steel wire reinforced tubing today when i was coming home from work and bought a few meters of it... its not very stiff really but even standing on the tubing does NOTHING to it... dunno if i can get it on the fittings keke
it looks HAWT too
i prolly wont use that, dunno yet

You can use it. This type of hose is usually used on the suction side of pumps with low-viscosity fluids, which can collapse non-reinforced tubing if you use a "strong" pump.

On my fish tank, I have to 2 suction lines hooked up to my Iwaki MD-70. I also have a foam filters attached at the suction inlets. As the filters load up, the 1" tubing can actually collapse! For computer WC'g setup's, this should not be a problem.

I would NOT use it on the pressure side unless you have a good barb to hose match and you use worm clamps. Since the tubing is hard to collapse, it is also hard to "squeese" down on a hose barb. Leaks are not fun in any situation, and worse yet around computer components.

Side note: before you upload pixs, please resize them to 640 x XXX. Much easier to view that way.

Its actually quite flexible
yeah im gonna use it if i can get it on the fittings right
and yes worm drive clamps

EDIT: too lazy to resize the other pics :p

Make sure no steel reinforcing wire can come in contact with any copper in your loop!
