I'm looking for a benchmark to test my system - mostly around the disk subsystem. Testing the CPU and overclocking is easy with Sysmark, etc etc, but I want to see how a fully loaded system performs.
I have RAID0 running now to improve the disk subsystem. I know its a little controversial about how much performance gain it really is over a single drive.
I need a benchmark to test multiple applications - all hitting the disk at the same time. Thats why I run RAID0. I hate to wait for disk when I have a lot going on with my system. Some Excel, Word, 10 tabs of Firefox, uTorrent, and then bring up something else large. I think without RAID0 - there is a lag waiting for the disk to start up a new application, even with a lot of RAM installed.
I may be wrong - but what benchmark could test this?
