I just got back from Microcenter with another Q6600. The sales guy had two retail boxes to choose from..

I went ahead about bought the newer dated one. I literally just got home and posted up so I don't have a VID right now. I tried google'ing that batch number but I didn't get any returns. Input anyone?

Damn! Just my luck.. haha. Well, my new Q6600 will be paired up to an Asus P5K-E (known as one of the few boards that can achieve a stable 500+ FSB with a quadcore processor). My cooling should suffice (it will run somewhere in the ball park of -35c on my Vapochill LS. The only thing I have left to do is buy some cheap DDR2 1200 ram. Patriot makes a 2 x 1gb kit for about $85 (after rebate). (9 x 470FSB).. Hmmm. 4.2ghz - 4.3ghz? We shall see..

I'm very interested in seeing what your processor (batch) will do on that board. I will be buying another Q6600 when I get paid in a few weeks, for my wife. I'll be sure to post her batch information as well.

I got mine from the Fry's deal last week.

VID posted 1.325v stock

The VID is high, but I backed it down to 1.175 and it ran 8 hours Prime95 stable @ 2.4GHZ.

My current OC is 3.0GHZ @ 1.2375v 8 hours Prime95 stable.

It is stable well below the voltage my mobo picked for it.

I too would have gone with the older date. I got an L804A677 from the Fry's deal earlier this week, though. It has a VID of 1.275. That seems pretty good, kinda in the middle.

The really sad thing is that it so doesn't matter to me. I am running a "virtualization project" home lab server on a left-over Intel DG965WH that doesn't allow voltage or FSB changes. It won't even actually disable EIST, even with "EIST: Disabled" set in the BIOS. My poor quad spends most of its time at 1.6GHz, which is (as I said), really sad. Well, except for my electric bill.

It's really intended for all C2D and C2Q processors.. So far, the lion's share Q6600 owners have been chiming in.. dual and quads welcomed here!

Ok I'll report back when I know something but I'm going to warn you I don't know when I'm going to have time to get it built so it could be a while.
