What are your guys' take on these?

IMO you wanna stay away from any headphone that has 5.1 in the name. You can get far better results with quality stereo headphones. And by quality i dont mean BOSE
if you must have a headset(mic on the headphone), i suggest you try siberia icemats. You might not want ones with the usb soundcard as they dont take advantage of high versions of EAX for games like an x-fi will.

Strikeout pretty much said what needed to be said. For the most part everyone should distance themselves away from headphones/headsets with 5.1 surround sound in its name or description.

I would just stick with the 150s if you absolutely must have a headset. Otherwise you are better off buying way better headphones & a clip-on mic if you don't mind having the two seperate.

$54? You'll probably get what you paid for (possibility a lot less in this case). Stick with the 150s.

Get a headphone with a wide soundstage and a DSP that will emulate 3D such as CMSS. For wide soundstage, my Beyerdynamic DT880 comes to mind. The Audio-Technica A900 LTD cannot match it in terms of distance and the "concert hall" feeling. I don't know how the DT770 compares to the DT880 in terms of soundstage, but if it's equally as good, then you could consider that for gaming.

Edit: The A900 LTD does plenty of things right though...I don't mean to discredit it --> I far prefer its tonal character to that of the DT880s, bringing out more bass of good depth and removing the recessed midrange present on the DT880s.

You only pay a max of $10 more for siberias which offer much better positional audio and are more comfortable to boot. The 150's are outdated as far as I'm concerned. Only update if your 150's are broken or you are unhappy with them because you're not going to be able to sell them for more than $20 so you're gonna be about $40 in the hole.
