What are your case temps?

I just isntalled motherboard monitor 5 a bit ago to find out how hot/cool my comp was. Basically I'm wondering if I'm going to need to add another fan or two if/when I move my case into the new enclosure I'm building into my desk.

I found that I'm running at 29ºc case temp and 52ºc cpu temp. This is on an aXP 1800+ msi k7t Turbo2 board. I don't know how much case temps differ with different boards/procs, but I wanted to see if mine right now was much hotter than others.

I usually have about 21C case temp, and about 31C cpu temp...your cpu seems to be running a little hot if your case temp is only 29...have you applied any thermal compound to the cpu?

I have 35C case to 49C CPU, idle. Not sure what load is, because I am not coordinated enough to find out. This is an athlon xp 2400+ w/ a thermaltake silent boost, in this case, two standard output 80mm fans in the intake slots in the front, 2 cooler master LED fans on the back for output, all fans at 5v except for the CPU fan. Also running a Antec Smartpower 400w psu with the usual fans on it.

this is too much info, but should I have better temps? No overclocking at the moment except for my video card (5900SE).

edit: with fans on normal power, 30C case and 43C cpu

I haven't added any thermal compound, no. I bought the board/proc from mwave as an assembled bundle about a year or two ago, whenever 1800+ was towards the new end. I haven't touched it since then. I should have mentioned that mine was in a casedge mid tower, it's a pretty basic case, front intake 80mm fan and 60mm rear exhaust. I think I have an enermax psu which has a fan on the inside of the case also (comp's not open and I can't remember offhand). Also have a pci slot fan in, had two but one burnt out or something, kept making loud noise so I removed it.

Case is 29C and cpu is 45c with 4/5 fans on low all the time when idle. I never have to turn my fans higher but I haven't tried oc'ing yet either. My temps go up only about 5C more under load.

My case is 28 idle with system in sig. Runs about 25 @ 200 fsb. 2 case fans + PSU fan.

Watercooled with rad mounted internal to window AC unit.
<Idle>
CPU: 18*- 26*C
System: 24*- 28*C

<Load>
CPU: 26*- 29*C
System: 27*- 30*C

Generally, these temps depend on how high I run the AC. The lowest I have seen my CPU temp was 14*C Idle and the highest I've seen it is twice when the AC was on low fan only it got to 30*C while playing COD. Damn I love my WhiteWater.

Idle (fans on)
case: 33
CPU: 33-34

Full load (fans on)
case: 35
CPU: 38

Idle (fans off)
case: 35
CPU: 37

Full load (fans off)
case: 37
CPU: 40-41

The component I had problems with overheating was my video card, not my cpu. It's an AOpen GF4 Ti4200 128mb with an asstastic fan on it. Used to overheat any time I'd have a game open for 20-30 hours. I installed a few more fans and it calmed down, but I wanted to see how my case temp was. I'm possibly moving this comp setup down onto a shelf enclosure of my desk which will have less airflow and I'm hoping my temps don't rise.

20-30 HOURS??? maybe you should shut the computer down and go outside a little bit. :) there's some lovely things out there...like sun, fresh air, and trees :)

My main rig case is about 36C and CPU under full about 42C

Case temp usually 73F, (22.7C) and CPU at 114F(45.5C)
Don't know why there's such a difference, but it doesn't seem to affect me adversely.

Haha, I play mmorpg's primarily, so it's not uncommon for me to just leave the game running while I'm afk, sleeping, out working, whatever. On one of my systems (aXP like 1ghz with a GF2ti) I left it running games for probably a month straight.
