I'm producing a spec for a workstation that my company will need for video editing and producing, and i need ideas on a good capture card.

I know to use at least 1gb of ram (i'm gonna try to push them too 2gb)

and minimum 200GB and an external 200GB drive.

2.8Ghz minimum.

But what i don't know is video capture cards.

can anyone help

Avoid any Nvidia 5200-based card like the plauge. Drivers are buggy as all hell, and it sometimes just refuses to detect the card, with with the latest driver releases. I've got one in my HTPC, and I'm really regretting it.

I had an ATI TV Tuner standalone card a few years ago, it was ok, but wasn't very robust.

I can only tell you what to avoid, can't really name you a decent card to get. Sorry.
