I have a hard drive cooler bolted to it and was wondering if these temps are still high?

thanks
:D

HD temps? Ive never heard of HD temps.... Ive heard of case and cpu temps.....

Anyway if its case yeah, they seem normal but my 3.2c runs at 29 * c idle...

I got a new system monitor called pc wizard ( very cool for free, its on the cpuz web site check it out) and i have never seen harddrive temps before. but with this new program , it shows everything

Are you guys serious? Wow :p

If you have one of the newer HD's, you can enable it in MBM5.

My HD temps are 32c right now, they dont run that hot. In my old case with good airflow going to it, it remained right at case temp and would barely nudge up during load.

Safe temps i would say below 40-45c.

mbm5 dosent work with this mobo. its a crap box, built out of spare parts. some off the wall mobo i found at work. damn-it I have 7 rigs I am working on , my place is a mess/ spare parts everywhere lol

I've seen WD drives running as hot as 52c (dad's small for factor (not shuttle type, slimline) and I was told it was normal.

Speedfan also monitors temps of them too!

Here's how I do it: If you can touch your hard drive and it doesn't feel hot, you're just fine. If it's burning hot, you should add some cooling.

As always, better safe than sorry, so make sure your hot fast drives have some cooling.

I had a SCSI drive melt a hole in the Lenolium floor in here once. :( Drive was okay, though. :p

I threw a pair of 74GB raptors and 4 250GB WD JD's in a silverstone case and I swear I could cook an egg on the hard drive cage.

Did it smell like burning dust or burning PCB?
