Data Link can also be broken up into 2 sublayers, Logical Link Layer and MAC.
Tons of sites have the info. It will take a bit of reading and thinking about it to get a handle on it, most likely. Here's one site I turned up with a quick Google search - http://www.uwsg.iu.edu/usail/network/nfs/network_layers.html - to give you something to read. Just read up on the ISO networking model to learn about this stuff. Once you've read some about it and have some specific questions to ask, you can probably get more help understanding it. It's just a big topic to explain to someone who doesn't have much of an idea of what it is all about.IveBeenBad said:not to be a hassle, but could you clarify all of this for a semi-newb?
