Trinity has faster integer units.

but which apps take advantage of them ?

You're probably going to see more of a boost in GPU-hungry apps, since Trinity uses the Radeon 6000 series. If it can truly match what a GTX 480 can do, then it looks to be a very nice bang / buck.

i'm talking about cpu-side components.

all of the benchmarks every website uses don't show any speed advantage for Trinity except when comparing to bulldozer.

everyday apps don't seem to benefit from Trinity either.

That's because Trinity still hasn't caught up to any Intel offering. Trinity may be faster than Bulldozer on most tasks, but it is still not as fast as Intel on the CPU side.

Where did you get this idea that it may match a GTX 480? That's a long way down the road to match a GTX 480.

The top end A10 Trinity uses a cut down Cayman GPU with 384 stream processing units. That's less stream processing units than than a HD 6570, which is a low-mid range GPU.
