What do people think of AVAST, as it was recommended to me?

Also how do you get rid of McAffee after the preloaded 30 trail?

Theres going to be alot of different opinions on this.
I worked in pc shop and avast was horrible our customers hated it and at least 1 time a month someone would come back in cause of an infection the hdd and windows had been re installed clean btw.

if you need free ive used and my customers havnt had any issues with AVG free edition. Beleive it or not Zonealarm free is good to it uses kaspersky antivirus with the zonealarm firewall its top notch!

I persoanlly us Kaspersky Internet Security Suite. I will wait till its on sale and free after mail in rebate with NO xtra rebates usually thanksgiving time and get it FREE after mail in!

Good Luck ;)

Oh ya sorry LULZ depending on your version of windows goto control panel, programs and features right click on mcafee and uninstall it reboot your pc and install you new fav AV !

I've had no issues with Avast. No program is 100% secure, I've seen infections on systems with every well known brand. The AV should be the last line of defense behind keeping the software updated and an educated user. 90% of the machines I work on have out of date software, it's not the AV's fault that a 0day exploit gets through, there's only so much the security program can do.
