Hello all. I'm going to hopefully here REAL soon be replacng my old Compaq desktop with a homebuilt one. I'm going to go with AMD just for affordability. What is a good but maybe more affordable mobo (50-75dollar range?) I'm not looking for something with tons of crazy features or anything, just a good basic mobo. Onboard audio/video is preferred as well. Thank you all in advance for your opinions or experience!

Check out this one as it has good onboard graphics and you can also use an upgraded video card if you wish..it is also a pretty good o/clocker also...if you not doing heavy 3d gaming onboard should be fine...a very good all in 1 board......

GA-MA69G-S3H is the model number and its 82.00 on mwave....check reviews out too as they are very good,,,newegg is out of stock so better move quick as it may be hard to find soon......

I'm using the eVGA version of the nForce 590 SLI reference board. I had some issues with hanging during POST, but those were resolved by loosening my RAM timings.

If you're going for pure value, it's hard to beat the Biostar Tforce boards for their overclockability and multiple fan headers. Just make sure that whatever you choose is AM2+ or at least has Phenom capabilities.

WAIT, all AM2 boards will be compatible with future processors, I think as long as the have an 8MB BIOS, or something like that.... and with a BIOS update of course.

the evga 590 SLI ref board.

Its nice, I just wish that evga would back up their boards a bit better.

Overclocking is good. I get a better OC on this board than my old Abit NF4 am2 board and this proc, even with only using the 4pin psu connector.

I'll be stepping to a 6400+, although that proc isn't 'officially' supported by evga on this board..

i would like to know where you guys are getting the evga 590 board for $50 to $75? and where can i get one with onboard video? or did you not read the op?

That board is also Crossfire capable, FYI.

I'm running the micro-ATX version of it, the MA69GM-S2H. It has onboard VGA, DVI, and HDMI, and can also handle an additional Radeon to run up to four displays. It's also Phenom ready- I'm running a 9500 in mine.
