my setup. 2x512mb HyperX 3500 A64 3000+ Venice. DFI lanparty UT-D

I hate to keep bugging eclipse I'm sure his pm box is full enough.
So I've read everything I can now and I am still doing something wrong I would imagine.

Okay so using what I was told to do and math this is what I Came up with and when I restarted I got a blue screen.
I wanted to start off with a lower OC so I picked around 2100Ghz
I used 5/6 devider. 233fsb x 9
htlink multiplier 3x

I wasn't sure if it was my ram so I put it to 2.7 and that din't help. I doubt it's the cpu voltage btw where is that? I seriously can't see where to change it and what should my LDT voltage be? Any idea what I am doing wrong or what I should do?
 
What is the voltage listed as? I am really not used to these new boards and what is the ldt voltage suposed to be at?
 
Okay, I just posted this in another thread, so I'll post it here too. ;)

Drop your memory to 1:2 so you don't have to worry about memory
Drop your LDT to 3x
Leave chipset/LDT voltages stock
Raise your CPU's voltage to 1.5v to see where that goes

Use clockgen to raise your HTT to a set speed, run SuperPI 32M to see if it's stable (if it crashes, then it's not ;)). If you're in a hurry, just try 1M SuperPI in steps until it crashes...when it crashes, you probably need more voltage or need to slow down.

For reference, I need 1.55v for my 2.7GHz overclock, and my LDT is at 3x, HTT is at 300Mhz, chipset/LDT voltages are stock. Just remember, overclock one thing at a time. ;)
 
Alright cause I am having one shitty ass time at finding where to change my cpu voltage is it the one labeled as Cpu: Vid startup value?
Also the "Drop your memory to 1:2" as in the 1:2 section such as 1:1 or 5:4? I haven't seen many people running it at 1:2 *Shrug*

if you read my a64 overclocking guide, look at the begining. i definied most of the stuff in the dfi nf4 bios. how to get the voltage you want is one of them
 
If you go into the OS part of the forum you can see I was having a problem, so now I cleared my cmos and I'm trying to reinstall XP but at the blue windows setup screen all it does on the grey column at the bottom is stay at setup is starting windows and it doesn't do anything after that.

i very rarely venture out of the amd and memory forums :p
did you find where the vcore adjustment is though?

and you say grey column.. i've install windows about a million times and have never seen a column. perhaps you mean the grey loading bar at the bottom of the screen that comes up before the windowsXP loading screen?
 
First I think your HTT multiplier should be @ 4 not 3. You want to be as close to 1000 as you can, 233x4=932. As far as your xp problem( I just had time to skim post) Did you clear your CMOS? If you altered a variable in there and never fixed it you would have a tough time installing windows.

He means when you boot off the XP CD, then you get the grey bar at the bottom of the screen where it loads all those mass storage controller drivers before the setup starts.
 
Oops, looks like you did clear CMOS, "coms"? :) Anyway cpu voltage is cpu vid. I never altered the startup setting on my mobo. I just have my CPU vid @ 1.55v and CPU vid percent @ 110% = 1.65v approx.
 
well I don't understand everything is reset to normal, and yes the grey loading driver thing you're right. and it just won't install windows. Would it be something wrong with my bios?

and when I get back to OCing what should my CPU vid percent be if I want to OC to 2500.
 
You used the jumper to clear the cmos right? If so your bios settings should be fine....

Man, I must have been sleeping to miss your specs at the top of the page, sorry guy. I checked out your posts in OS section too, when you say you "put in a new BIOS", I assume you mean you altered settings in the BIOS and afterwards things did not work.... and did not flash the BIOS correct? As long as you didn't mess up a BIOS flash we're okay yet. Have you removed the battery from the main board? I have never done that myself, always just cleared the BIOS with a jumper but I would assume that removing the battery from the board for a minute would have to reset everything. I would only do that as an absolute last resort.
 
Did the battery, did the cmos. I think when I was getting that wierd error thing it messed up my winflash bios updates. So now I am having a friend bring a floppy drive and hoping to god the disk they gave me has the files on it.
 
If not, MN not far from here, I could priority a floppy w/correct files on it for ya. :) lol

I really appreciate that but I'm up in Winnipeg for school. I have been trying to get ahold of him for a few days but he's out of town so whenever I can borrow his floppy drive hopefully I can update my bios. I am pretty sure they were corrupted. In the time being I also switched my ram from orange to yellow slots cause I heard it helped with another guy. I really have no idea why this didn't OC well.

The files you said, they would be just the latest bios update or something different?
 
I was just talking about the bios. Do you just need a floppy disk with bios on it or are you needing to borrow his floppy drive? Because if you seriously need just the disk I would be willing to send you one. :)

I really appreciate it but it's been taken care of my buddy already put the bios to disc and is bringing the floppy and drive over tonight. :) Thanks again I really appreciate it.
