I'm trying to figure this out...someone please help a brother out! I have a Sapphire X1900XTX that i've been trying to OC since I got it....So heres what I did

Opened up ATi Tool
Made a new profile (3-D)
Adjust the core voltage to stock 3d volts
Moved the core to 700mhz

and it froze once I hit apply....then the monitor went into standby. Any ideas? I've been running 690/1600 in CCC for a while, and its been perfect in every game I have, including oblivion.
 
did you disable the smart ATI stuff on start. load up MSCONFIG any ATI program that starts up disable it :D
 
what do you mean? Like

cuz thats hte only thing I have running for ati....unless i open CCC, then I have CLI.exe
 
I'm sure ati2evxx.exe is the ATi 2d/3d clock switcher. I haven't used the latest ATiTool, but I'm guessing it uses it's own method - try kiilling the aforementioned process and see if it helps any.
 
Here is what you do

Get ATT B14 (I think that's the lastest from ATI Tool)
Start it up, click yes to allow it to disable all services
Goto Settings, Voltage Control
Adjust the VGPU to 1.40 Core is good up to 720 only
Adjust the MVDDC and MVDDQ as needed (I still haven't figured that out yet)
Leave VDDCI as is...
Then hit apply, back, then increase core and memory
Again 720 for core
You have to play with MVDDC and MVDDQ when increasing memory beyond 810

Try this using 3DMark06:
core voltage 1.40
MVDDC 2.160
MVDDQ 2.203

Core 720
Mem 814.5 (you can manually type the numbers in...don't use the slider)

Save then Post your results.

Next try this
core voltage 1.40
MVDDC 2.203
MVDDQ 2.203

core 720
mem 814.5

Save and post your results

Which of the 2 gave you the highest score on 3dmark 06?
 
then it's no longer a VC problem but a system problem
-are you overclocking? If so set the system to it's defaults to get it working
you need to run prime95 everytime you overclock (FYI)
are you using a PC Power and Cooling or Enermax Liberty/Noise Taker PSU
 
Its not a system problem, as I can run 3dmark05 at 690/1600 w/ no problems through CCC. I'm using an OCZ PowerStream 520 and all the volts are dead on. And yes, my rig is dual prime approved.
