Been wanting to purchase but haven't and now is the time I have to pull the trigger. I've more or less decided on the items just need a few final suggustions on which way to go for a few items - MoBo, CPU Cooler and PSU. Others I've decided on.

MoBo - Which one for Good OC w Opty 144 and stable.
- DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D
- EPoX 9NPA-Ultra

PSU:
- Enermax EG565P-VE FMA(24P)
- Antec TruePowerII - TPII-550
- Fortron AX 500-A

CPU Cooler - and will they fit with a DFI or EPoX Mobo:
- Zalman CNPS 9500 LED
- Thermalright XP-90 w/ SilentCat 90mm fan

Sound Card for use with Headphones only:
- Can I use MoBo's sound output or do I need a Audigy Value ?

I've read about some issues with the DFI-Lanparty, regarding memory and power supplies. But many report that the G.skill sticks work find with the DFI.
I was also seriously considering the Epox as well. Unfortunately, the Asus A8N I chose doesn't have the RAM/FSB ratios like standard.
My fortron 530W has been VERY reliable, except for the model I have had problems with the clear fan cracking & failing. I swapped it out for a regular sunon ball-bearing 80mm

I have the Antec Lanboy as well, and my only issue with it is that the HDD cage is not removeable without first removing the video card. also, the mechanism for locking the cage in place seems a little blah. just not as sturdy as the Antec SOHO 1040 case drive cages.

If you're using headphones (and sub-$200 cans) then onboard sound should be fine. Probability is that your headphones won't be able to replicate great audio quality anyhow, and even the onboard sounds these days is very good.
 
I would vote for the:

DFI Motherboard, they really are great stable boards.
Fortran PSU
Zalman Cooler
 
well, since I upgraded to the 3700+ san diego, the case seems to be able to handle the heat better. I have 4 hard drives, so that contributes.

one 80mm intake, one 80mm out, and the PSU fan out. That's it for cooling, and it stays pretty good. I haven't had any heat crashes, so I'm not worried. The best thing about the Lanboy is the carrying strap that comes with it. Man..... that thing is great!
