What a terrible week!

Man starting monday my 40 day old ATI 5870 decides to crap out on me, not responding etc. basically requiring replacement. Then yesterday, almost as if Microsoft planned this, my xbox 360 red rings. I'm pulling out my hair cause I dont have the money to replace this now!! It all kinda makes me want to get more full proof tech (or atleast more easily fixed and replaced tech) like a damn macbook and the new *supposidly* RROD free xbox 360.

Sorry this is sort of a rant.
 
Nothing is 100% fool proof. Sadly, nothing last forever (as you're already aware). And the MacBook is one of the most frustrating pieces of technology to "troubleshoot" (at least, in my personal experience).

Did you register your video card? If so, you should be able to return it to the manufacturer via RMA and either get a new one or have it fixed for little to no money. As for the new Xbox 360, wait a couple of months -- at least find out whether or not it overheats as often as the "current" version.
