What a pain. IE

My uncles computer (xp pro) does not open links in another window. I could not fix it. I disabled firewalls, pop up blockers, anti viruses but nothing worked. It does open links in the same window. But not in another window. If anyone knows what it could be please help me.

So when you right click on a link and select "Open in new window" nothing happens? (Request for further information)

Have you scanned for spyware/etc.? (Obligatory suggestion)

Yes, nothing happens. Not even when I right click and click open in new window.
Which program do you suggest me to use to scan for spyware?

Spybot search&destroy, Microsoft Antispyware, Lavasoft AdAware -- try one, two, or all three - can't hurt.

I did some googling...

Try start/run:
regsvr32 urlmon.dll

It does appear as a spyware type hack caused this.

run the Spyware detectors already mentioned and also run...

Spyware Utilies - Xoft, Spy Sweeper, CCleaner, X-Cleaner, CW Shredder, HijackThis
Regestry Utilites - Reg Scrub,
RootKit Utilites - BlackLight, RootKitRevealer

Just type each one in google.com and download all to a cd rom and keep it handy...

Do you have Yahoo Toolbar installed? If so remove it. Don't just disable it, but uninstall it completely.
