What a decision?

both are very quick cards, and about the same performance. thats where the gtx one-ups the 1800; it's cheaper.

Go with the GTX. It is a very solid stable card and is a bit quicker in many of the benchmarks that I have seen.

Bottom line, if you want to save money go with the 7800 GTX.
 
The x1800xt is tad faster, twice the ram, better iq, and more features. Worth the extra money if you ask me. thats what in US currency, $60 difference?
 
The only reason really to get the radeon is for the extra ram. depends on how long you want to keep the card I guess.
