Well, my VX922 just arrived and I've been messin' around with it for the last couple-three hours.
This thing is friggin' FAST. I'm comparing it to a VA912b (8ms) - what a difference! Night and day. FPS's, browsing (scrolling) look great.
So, I had heard about the vertical viewing angle loss that you get with a TN panel, but I never thought it'd be this bad. I have to basically point the thing downward so I don't get this darker section up top. What a friggin' pisser. I will have to get used to looking at a monitor from the top-down. As soon as I slouch in my chair, I start to get this darker band up top, which makes surfing and other things (other than games) quite a bit less enjoyable than the VA912b.
I will also say this thing is WAY too bright. I've got contrast and brightness all the way down and it could be turned down some more. Sheesh.
So, all of this for speed. What sucks is I absolutely couldn't play games on the "8ms" VA912b. I tried and tried for months to get used to it after my 21" CRT and couldn't - too much ghosting and smearing, I'd get dizzy with a headache. As soon as I fired up an FPS with the VX922, I knew I had found an LCD that was finally fast enough for MY eyes. But at what cost? Maybe a year or two down the road, I can have the best of both worlds.
