What 6600gt to get?

Im building a pc for my dad and I'll be getting a 6600gt for him. I dont know what 6600gt to get, there are so many of them

Do i get PCI Express or AGP first of all?

Whatever i get, what version of the card do i get? Aopen? Gainward? Leadtek? MSI? the prices between them are very different as you can see here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_6600_GT.html

from the site, what 6600gt would you get? and why is the gainward so much more expensive?

i'm in the same situation as you, and i'm getting the leadtek card. i've been researching it for awhile now. leadtek has one of the best HSF of the whole 6600GT series. And as which type of card, get whichever one your mobo supports, pci-e or AGP.
 
Yes with your current motherboard you will need the AGP version.

I also recommend the Leadtek one because I am currently sleeping with the Leadtek's VP of Sales and Marketing!

i saw this comparison with like 15 different 6600gt and teh albatron came out as the overall best..
 
the bfg looks nice as always.

anandtech did a roundup of the 6600's the albatron looked the best.
 
i checked out anandtech... i didnt know they did this but wow this is exactly what i was looking for.

Go 4 Leadtek, they r very good oc most reach 570-580/1150Mhz, mine is @607Mhz/1268Mhz & friends 1 @628Mhz/1150 with stock cooling, after Vmod he's @693/1300Mhz.

yea exactly. i'm going leadtek too once i get the money.
 
heard alot of bad stuff about albatron so i suggest u stay away from them. BFG should be the best imo becuz of there kick ass warranty.
