WGR614 version

I recently picked up a netgear WGR614 and unfortunately ended up with a v7 when I wanted a v9.

v7 is atheros based where as the v9 is broadcom (as I understand it).

I plan to exchange it but I dont see anything on the exterior of the packaging that indicates what version it is.

Does anyone have a serial number key for Netgear products? Is there any way to tell what version I'm getting when I exchange it?

I know this isn't what you're asking but I had a WGR614 v6 and v8 and it was horrid.

I'd consider a Linksys WRT-54G. They are very good stock, even better with alternative firmware like DD-WRT.
