Well, in the process of putting the watercooling setup in my computer I got a few drops on the motherboard, just between the CPU and AGP slot. Looks like that's all the water that leaked out, I quickly got all the water i could see out of the computer with a papertowel. One of the hose clamps wasn't tight enough, but it is now. :)

Anyways, my question is how many hours should I leave it sit to make sure it's dry? It's presently running in case to leak check, so it's down for awhile anyways, just want to know how long I should wait to be sure it is dry.

Thanks.

well if its only a couple drops like you said then i say wait 30mins. should be fine after that.

I can't be 100% sure there was none that got under the CPU socket or in the AGP slot. To the best of my knowledge though, I got all of it with the paper towel, but it's possible there was some left over.

let it sit out in the open in a dry room. If you didnt plug it in, then chances are your worst enemy right now is the minerals in the water casuing a short

Well if it helps any it was distilled water w/ a bit of water wetter in it, plus whatever it's picked up from in the loop.

should be fine after about an hour. I spilled some distilled water all over my mobo and after a few hours and some towelling it was all good

I'm thinking about tempting fate and trying it now. It's been sitting for ~5hours... What do ya think?

wait till the morning, sleep on it, you'll be happier later

I got some on my graphics card oce, I waited for a whole day and it came out good

Heh, well I saw your post too late. It's running ATM and running pretty well considering the condition it's in right now.

She's been running with no airflow for ~5 hours, turned on computer (w/ Folding@Home) and running max load on CPU. Temps were around 37*C last I looked w/ 30*C ambient. :)

FYI

We got a computer class at the local tech college.
This guy TEACHES his students to wash off old dirty motherboards with a hose pipe and then let them air-dry.
