Westy Weirdness with Deviant DVI Detection

I just finished building a new rig, and I hooked it up to my Westinghouse 37" to start installing things. It detected a signal on DVI2 when I started up the computer, but then changed its mind a second later and displayed a DVI2 - No Signal message. First thought, I had a missed connection or bad part...but no, the computer works quite normally on a different display.

Has anyone seen this kind of behavior from their Westy? Any ideas what could be causing it and/or how to make it behave? I assume there's a way to manually set the input through the menus, but I rather liked the auto-detect behavior. (I haven't tried that yet...one because it's still installing things, two because I'm a bit paranoid that it still won't show up if I override the auto-detect...)

Did you try DVI-1? IIRC I remember people talking about Westy making the SE's without the DVI-2 port because the 2nd port was sharing with the other. Also it might be that only DVI 1 is designed for use for a PC. I missed the entire Westy craze myself... Didn't have enough money for one until they were all gone. :(

I did, once I found a longer cable. Same result. I'd been using DVI-2 without any trouble on the other computer (7800GTX vs 8800GTX, incidentally).

Did you retry it on the one that worked? Maybe use the same DVI cable as on the old one? I would say if it works with the other computer and doesnt with the same cable on that one.. Either the DVI port on the card is borked, or maybe just a driver issue.

Still no clue what was causing this, but it worked once the OS & drivers were installed.
