Westinghouse LVm-42w2 problems with ps3...SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

1)with component cables(problem with the screen being very pink but sharp)

sooo I went out and bought an hdmi...

at first it wasnt recognizing it at all the signal at all...so i got it set up with a normal av cable....then switched to hdmi once it started working.....(butttttt it started blinking between working and not working)

since its been switched...whenever im in the media bar in 1080p it works then goes blank...ever like second and a half second..then works for a second...:( ....once i start up resistence or motostorm demo it works perfectly fine...but only if i restart my ps3....then...when i go back to the menu...it blinks again......same thing with blueray movies....it blinks over and over again...

so to review...if i start it up it work sfine usually....ill go play a game and it works fine....the moment i go back to the media bar system thing...it starts blinking...anddoesnt ever stop.:(

i believe my firmware is 1.0 on my westy....

ooo just to let you guys know my 360 work sfine in all my component outs, and vga outs.

ps- my powerbook can use it as a monitor at 1080p no problem at all
 
someone please help...its driving me nuts , im about to return the ps3 and the westy grrrrrrrrr.

just to clarify again...everything works fine until I switch back from a game or a blueray movie back to the media bar
 
on my westy the graphics glitch sometimes when switching from hdmi > dvi etc.. i turn the tv off then on and it fixes it. Seems like you would have tried that though so I dunno what else to suggest :(
 
Maybe you should try the PS3 on somebody elses TV just to be sure it is working properly.
 
There has been reported problems already with the PS3 and the hdmi cable not displaying properly as well other the other connection cables. Switching inputs on my lcd tv's via dvi, hdmi or component sometimes causes a digital glitch for 2nd as you switch inputs.

I haven't seen many displays that don't and since you said your 360 works fine, it seems obvious that you have a PS3 issue. Try the PS3 on someone else's or another tv that you have and see if the issue persists.

Good luck with returning the PS3 as well since you won't be getting another one for quiet some time. They're sold out everywhere and if this turns out to be a major problem with the PS3, then it might take longer to get it replaced.

Did you upgrade your firmware yet for your PS3? Just wondering b/c their's already an update out that you need to download for your console. Not sure if it would fix your issue as I don't know everything that it updates/changes, but it could resolve your problems.

mine blinks too, when going from a game to the main menu, or main menu to a game, it blinks for like 10-15 seconds then stops, a whole bunch of other people have said the same thing, i usually just turn my tv off, then back on and it stops but it is annoying, heres a link to some other people saying the same thing...
