Helping the family decide on a new tv. Right now it's down to the westy LVM-47w1 or the sharp LC-46D62U.

I can get the westinghouse for 2300 delivered with a 4 year warranty plan from BB. For 2800 I can get the sharp delivered, no extended warranty.

I've read about banding issues with the bigger westys, but not really seen too much else about the sharp display. It will be used for general tv duties, both hd and sd from cablevision, watching dvds, maybe xbox 360.

The only thing I have to compare is my westy 37" (GORGEOUS monitor).

Major differences:
Sharp has 2 hdmi inputs, coax input, optical audio output. A dvi-to-hdmi solves the problem of the lack of dvi inputs though. Sharp has a higher contrast ratio (2000:1 vs 1200:1) and lower response time (4ms vs 6.5ms).

I'm leaning towards the westy based on experience and price. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

i did check that before i posted, but 2800 is from a local place. i'm thinking easier to exchange/return in case of a problem.
