Someone convince me to buy it.

It's on sale at Best Buy for $899, but the reason it looks tempting for me is that I have $175 in gift cards to BB. After tax it brings it down to $798.

I wouldn't be using this for gaming, and I need something thin with the ~2ft from the edge of my bed to the wall. The 26" on Black Friday looks tempting (that would come out to $344 :eek:) but I won't be here that day (driving to vegas). Also the 26" looks to small, but the 32" looks big enough.

This will just be used for bedroom tv watching, mostly movies though, but would games look good enough on it? (BF2 on a 6600gt?)

And though it's HD-Ready (wtf does that mean?) i'll just be using the standard direct tv box and console games, unless I want to splurge on the HD box or however that work with them. (lol clueless)

Does the 6" from the 32" ($798) over the 26" ($365) justify the $433 increase?

(if I win anything in Vegas on BF i'm going for the 32" of course :p )
 
I'd go for the 32" or the 37", 26" in a widescreen aspect is too small for TV duty.

It should be fine for movies and gaming. If you are going to watch a lot of movies on it, invest in a upconverting DVD player like the Panny DVD-S77S, or the Oppo Digital universal player, these really shine when combined with a fixed pixel display like an LCD.

And most cable companies will give you an HD cable box and just charge you like an extra $5 a month, if yours offers this, go for it, your TV viewing will be 10x better looking than if you give the set an analog signal.
 
HD Ready means it can accept an HD signal from a video source, but it doesn't have a built in tuner, which isn't a big deal usually since most cable companies, satellite, etc make you use their equipment anyway.

I'd go with the HD option from your Direct TV or whatever, it'll give you better resolution and probably also give you the option to use a DVI or HDMI output to the TV which will look a lot better than using component inputs.

You definately want the 32" cause if you're watching a movie or channel that's not widescreen and has the black bars on the sides, 26" starts to look reeeealy small.
 
I had a 27" but realized it was too small for HT so I upgraded to a 32" and I've never been happier. Of course a 37" might change my mind.
 
If I can somehow get paid today and I get off early today, I think i'm going to go pick it up after work. :)
