I did some research on this subject on here but couldn't really find anything (I prolly should have looked harder). Anyways, just wondering if anyone has any opinions on the 19" widescreen Westinghouse monitor for sale at Best Buy right now? I don't really know a whole lot about monitors. I have a 12" PowerBook right now and I intend to use whatever LCD I get as an external monitor for my notebook. Westinghouse doesn't exactly jump out at me as being a premiere electronics company, but the monitor really did look nice, and the price is definately right ($229), and like I said, I really don't know much about monitors. I'm not too concerned about having the best monitor in the world, I just want a nice looking monitor that will last me 2-3-4 years. I don't do ANY gaming or graphics intensive work at all. I need the extra screen space beyond my 12" PB for the DreamWeaver and light Photoshop work I've been doing.
So what does everyone think? Is Westinghouse an okay brand to go with? I'm in the market for an LCD display and I want to keep it at a $250 max. I'd like it to be as big as possible and obviously as high quality as possible in that price range. I'd also like to be able to go to a brick and mortar establishment and pick it up. I really liked the casing and the look of this Westinghouse display as it matches my PowerBook, but I don't want to waste my money on a crappy monitor.
Also, if not this Westinghouse monitor, anyone have any suggestions? I saw a nice 17" Sony LCD and a 19" Samsung LCD (neither widescreen) at Best Buy in the same price range, and both of those names make me feel a little more comfortable than Westy. I've seen a lot of people rave about different Dell displays, but I don't think I can find a decent one in the $225-$250 range.
Anyways, any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks!
