just got my second hd3870 and boy am i impressed my 3d mark 06 scores went from 11844 to 16019 without over clocking thats what im going to start doing now
 
I was gonna do somethin like that in the next month. But im stuck between getting the 3970 for $160 or E8400/q9300 for $200 ish??? my CoD4 frames suck with my current 3870.
 
this is what my frame rates have went to
just played a few games and this is what i got
COD4 1440-900 everything on Max 90-130fps
crysis 1440-900 high anti aliasing x8 30-38fps
crysis 1440-900 med-high anti aliasing off 45-58fps
looked very good what does eveyone think
added frontlines fuel of war maxed out 60-80fps
 
3970? When did that come out? It would seem that your processor does not need to upgraded as it wouldnt bottleneck your performance on higher resolutions. I would probably upgrade the vid card to whatever you could do first. Oh if you do find a 3970 let us know what the specs are (just poking a little fun at a typo!)
