Weird triangles in 3d games??? Where is the problem??

Friend of I says that when playing 3d games, he sees big triangles, and everything fu***s up. It doesn't do it all the time.

The pc has been allright for a while and it suddently started doing this.

I believe it could be an heat issue, but um, it's a geforce 3 ti-200, not overclocked, with a crystal orb, heatsinks on the memory, and there are 2 case fans. Why would it overheat.

Could it be a driver issue? He's been having spyware trouble recently.

Any ideas? Check GPU temps, reinstall drivers, reinstall DX9, anything else? ieas?

Not the most helpful answer but maybe go on ebay and pick up something equal or better for like 25 bucks. Sounds like the card is dying and it really isnt worth the effort. Good luck to him tho.

it could be dust buildup

or old, dying capacitors.

Your best bet is a new card.

Lolz sound like you card is slowly dying, tell him to pick up a 6600GT agp or a 9800xt.
