Weird Temps w/ Q9450

I read the other thread here (realtemp tjmax=85C vs coretemp tjmax=105C). This problem with the Q9450 seems a little different though.

My cousin just got a Q9450 but the temp seems off. No matter what HSF we use, the temps are the same!

Coretemp v98.1 (TJmax = 100C)
Room Ambient Temp = 25C

Intel OEM HSF
