Weird temperature readings?

Hey guys, i recently built this computer with 1TB WD Red and 4 4TB WD Red on RAID 10. I have left my hardware monitor on over some time and noticed some weird temperature readings. All the hard drives are new, maybe a month or so old at most.

The raid array is showing some extreme highs and well as lows. Is this something i should be worried about? i put my hand on the drives and they don't feel hot to me.

Anyone able to give some advice on this? Thanks.

How are you even getting a reading? Mine only shows the drives thats connected to the internal sata ports. Do you have a port multiplier on there as well?

No. It's just the software not able to guess what the reading from a few sensors mean. Remember sensors may read voltage or temperature but report the number as some integer like 234. The software's job is to guess what 234 means.
 
You can get the temperature from the smart reading. But since the raid controller dont allow direct access to the drive you cant get a smart reading other than what the controller gives you. The reading is just a hex number that converts to decimal Celsius. So dont know what that report is. The powers package shows less than 1W for a 4 core cpu? Even idle it should be over 10 W.. Many of the reading are not valid so not sure why you bother to use it. You might need a special program that works with that particular motherboard. It still wont get you the smart values from the raid controller.. You might need another program from marvel for that. Thats how I was able to read the smart values from the attached drives. Then I just convert the hex values to decimal and see what the temperature is. Also the sleep timers don't work with the raid controller either.. So the drive temp should be like 5C above room temp due to that. Also crystal diskinfo works with some attached drives but it did not work with the raid controller.. hwmonitor is only for compatible motherboard stuff.

Oh ok, thanks! I figured it was something like that but i just wanted to be sure.

I have been using the Marvell software but it's really inconvenient as you can only view one harddrive at a time and its also only displays the hex values.
