Just some background on my system. My system specs are in my signature (although I'm running 11 x 220 @ 1.7v). I'm using a Evercool WC-202 CPU Block, GPU Block, and the two radiators with a C-Systems 750 Mark II Pump, and a Swiftech Resevoir. My case is a Antec full tower, with a 92mm, 5 80 mm, and a Vantec Card Fan to cool the ramsinks on my 6800. My load temps are around 58-60 degrees, and my idle temps are 51-52 degrees.
Now, today, I decided to pick up a 120mm Vantec Stealth fan to put on a Zalman Bracket FB123 http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=15&code=016 in case u need to see it. I mounted the 120mm, and further 7 volt modded it to make it quieter. With that blowing over the Northbridge, the RAM, and the CPU area, I'm currently getting load temps around 47 degrees, and idle temps around 41.
Now.... that's just really weird, because obviously my CPU cooling is the same (Evercool WC-202 waterblock), yet a new 120mm fan on top lowered the temps by 10 degrees.
Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why? Are the temperatures acurrately reflecting the CPU temperature, or is this an anomaly?
