Hey guys, this is basically what is happening:
My USB ports won't access ANY storage devices. my mouse and keyboard are recognized via USB, but when i try using anything else (jump drive or iPod) My Computer doesn't allow me to access it. My Computer recognizes it and it shows up as Removable disk P: or F: etc. but when i try to open it, it says "P: is not formatted, would you like to format now?" and in the case of my iPod, iTunes says "iPod is corrupt. Use Restore to set it back" BUT the thing is, both my iPod AND my usb drives work on other computers (tried out laptop and dad's comp) and i can access them etc. WEIRD! also, when i checked out the properties, the partition type is RAW.
i recently recreated my RAID-0 Array and reinstalled windows. i'm still stumped after a few days of research. if you guys could help, that would be awesome :D
Thanks!

  • Does this happen if you run at stock?
  • Have you tried different USB ports?
  • Have your tried running the devices from a powered hub?

Thanks for the reply drizz,
I have been running at stock, haven't changed my sig in a bit.
I have tried the USB devices on both my front ports and my back ports.
Just tried running the devices from a USB hub (the kind where you have 1 usb plug into the comptuer and then have 4 ports on the other end) and it still does not work.
Keep the ideas coming guys!

I say go into Device Manager and click on your (go up to the top were View is an check mark (show hidden devices ) and at the bottom when you see Universal Serial Bus controllers) Double click on it .And then double click on (Standard Enhanced PCI to USB
Host Controller ) When it comes up hit the driver tab up top ,and hit the update driver tab
and see if it finds drivers that it may have lost threw some sort of corruption ,if it does then reboot ..good luck/

problem solved: reformatted. lol
i asked a friend of mine and he said it was because i installed SP2 before i installed my chipset drivers. not sure if it was the reason, but i reinstalled windows and installed the drivers before updating and it works fine.
didn't read that last post before i tried reinstalling, not sure if it will work but it's a good try for anyone who needs it.
thanks to everyone who helped:D
