Ok, so, I'm not sure if this has to do with hardware or software issues, so I'm posting here first.

My Setup:
Win2k sp3 on...
2500+
NF7 v2
2x256 kingston hyperx pc3200

Now, when I start up, it will only start up off of my disk that I have my operating system on if I have another drive of some sort in the boot order BEFORE it that also has a win2k boot sector. I have another IDE device that seems to have a win2k boot sector on it somehow, so if I put that, or my win2k cd in the cd-rom and put either of those drives higher in the boot order than my system disk, its starts up fine. However, if I put my system hard disk highest in the boot order, or, have my cd-rom higher in the boot order but without a win2k disk in it, it hangs when its detecting boot sector to start up into Windows.

Well, any ideas would be much appreciated. I wanted to ask you guys first before I formatted and tried installing again. Thanks!

Looks like you have some kind of problem with your MBR or the boot sector.

Try booting from your Win2k original CD, go to the recovery console and there try to run CHKDSK, and then FIXBOOT and/or FIXMBR.

References (they are for WinXP, but they should work for W2k):

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/.../home/using/productdoc/en/bootcons_fixmbr.asp

And

If there is nothing else wrong you may fix it in less than ten minutes.
