weird ssd and ram issue

So I have a 240gb Sandisk Extreme SSD. I just went from 8gb (1600) -> 32gb (2133) and my SSD storage went from 44gb free to 16gb free. If I remove two sticks and run dual channel it goes back to 44gb free.

Ram is recognized in win 7 ultimate as 32gb. CPU-Z sees it as 32gb and running at stock 2133 clock 1.6v.

Motherboard is Asus p877-v, 3570k, 32gb gskill 2133 1.6v ram.

So what is going on? Issue with quad channel? bad ram? Im dumb? :p
 
It's Windows... not your RAM :)

Set your pagefile to a static size I do 2GB.

Disable hibernate and sleep and delete the file.

as todd said its a page file setting. Windows is reserving page file space. If you have 32GB of RAM you should just disable page file or make it the smallest amount possible to allow dump files for crashes.
 
Hibernation file is likely a few GB too, if you don't use it disable and delete it.
