there is this weird asss smell that is comming out of the back exhasut fan from my PSU, is that natural? is it dangerous? what could be causing it? how do I fix it? shoudl i worry about it if all teh rails and everything is fine, and I see no smoke?

I think its from teh UV lights or the fans inside the PSU, but any suggestions?

O by teh way its a 500w ultra x-connect.

gee is our resident Electrical Engineer BTW
so his guesses are better than most peoples assertions ;)

the smell isnt typical of most supplies
and suggests that they havent had the same burnin period that other supplies might have had
and or cheaper components, assembly

It may be a glob of glue on top of one of the heatsinks that starts to stink when it gets heated. I had that problem with my Ultra X. Sloppy quality control.
