Hello fellow fellows,
I thought I might enlist your help in solving or at least further explicating an unusual behavior that's cropped up in my computron.
So, I've got a Rampage Formula with 8gb of ddr2-800 G skill rammy, and a q9450 @ stock and I just went from a 4870 to a 4870x2. After installing the new graphics card, I couldn't get past the part of the POST screen indicating that it was initializing the USB controller. Of course, my keyboard didn't work since said controller wasn't doing anything..obviously this is not what I was expecting. I cleared the CMOS and whatnot and plugged my keyboard straight into the computer (it was plugged into my Samsung 245T) and voila.. I made it to Windows. Okay? Swell. Installed the drivers and all that, everything works fine yada yada. I plugged my keyboard back into the monitor, it still works in windows, but whenever I restart it hangs at the same place as before.
I then flashed up the latest bios (4.8 I believe) for the motherboard to see if perhaps that would have some positive effect. Yeah, no.
Any thoughts as to why switching graphics cards might cause the USB out from my monitor to no longer talk to my motherboard outside of windows?
Thanks for any input
