any one else notice this with a Q6600 G0

9 x 355 = 3.2GHz @ 1.3v = completely unstable

but

8 x 400 = 3.2GHz @ 1.3v = 24 Hour Prime stable??

i thought high multi's were suppose to OC better?

Some frequencies arent as stable as others in the same circuit.
ie a circuit will have an optimal frequency range but also frequencies within that range will propagate with different losses and some frequencies may be influenced more by external interference.

It will probably be just as stable if you increase the voltage for the device which is struggling to run at that speed.
(as long as you remain in the tolerable heat/voltage range for the device)

i see.... i'm liking this loop hole thing been playing around with the settings so far

Q6600 (9 x 378 = 3.4GHz @ 1.35v) = unstable (crashes while loading vista)

now with lower multi

Q6600 (8 x 425 = 3.4GHz @ 1.35v) = 1 hour prime stable and still going !!!

i notice that with the lower multi the heat increases about 3-5c vs. the 9x multi...i don't think i'm going to go any further i think 1.35v @ 3.4GHz @ 60c load is within the max range?

Thats fine and the temps are ok for the voltage used.
1.4V is ok with good cooling.
With the best air cooling (and good airflow) you can go to 1.5V.
You are well within its capabilities.

I would improve the cooling a bit before pushing higher voltage/speed though.
My 2p worth.
