Weird problems..maybe memory related ?

*if this needs to be moved to video cards...please move it*

So my 9800pro got shocked and i RMA'd it...

Put in a GF4 MX420 for a few days..(tonight)

when my old card got nailed all my desktop icons but a few were all graphically screwed up..the text is fine but the icon pic looks like a barcode/lines...

when i put the new card in the icons are the same. i refreshed the desktop, tried making new shortcuts for the messed up icons..no good.

Could it be possible that this glitch is still in my 1024MB of memory or something like that ?
what could be the reason for this happening to my icons. :confused:
 
memory errors usually result in bsod problems, but a run of memtest wouldn't hurt.
 
can't i just do a mem dump or something to clear whats in my memory ?
 
Install TweakUI if you haven't already, open it, go to the bottom section (Repair) and select Rebuild Icons
 
no go...

its not just my desktop icons either, its most icons in folders and stuff too...


it got fixed byitslef then when i re-booted they are messed up again...


any ideas ??!?!
