Ok I have:

A64 3000+ Winny
XP-120 w/ Panaflo
2x512 PC4400 G.Skill
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum using 1.36B Bios

Im sitting at 2.15ghz right now (239x9) , but whenever I try anymore than 239 , I get a disk read error or it hangs. Cooling is just fine , but I think it may be the BIOS that I have. Maybe someone will know what's wrong or maybe someone would have some beta BIOS you could send my way that would be great.

Are you using SATA hard drives? If so change to SATA connections 3 and 4, 1 and 2 don't have a proper working lock, and causes failures at around 240MHz.

Yes, 250 gig SATA. And where abouts in BIOS would I run across this?

Divider - My friend was telling me about this the other day , he's the one that started me into OC'ing, care to eleborate?

Thanks for the fast responses as well...

divider or FSB:RAM ratio is the frequency at which ur RAM runs compared to the FSB. You have set ur FSB to 239Mhz...so if your divider is set to 1:1...your RAM would also be running at 239Mhz..which it may or may not be able to depending on what's its rated speed. So try to keep it low to find your max FSB, ie...isolate the RAM...by using a 2:1 divider. After you have found your max stable FSB..you can increase the FSB:RAM ratio slowly and then keep memtest-ing it...keep increasing voltage if you want to push it further...if you have a heat spreader with your RAM..i would say go upto 2.8v.

no need to be sorry dude...u wont believe im only 1 month into all this stuff...just keep experimenting with it....and ull be fine...just dont over-volt too much without better cooling.

abt the divider...it depends on wht ur BIOS calls it....i have a Phoenix and it has a special RAM config menu....under that its under "DRAM Frequency Set"

look around im sure its there.

i can only say abt the RAM...SATA i dunno cos i dont use it...plus im also new at it like u..but yeh...check ur RAM for sure.

I changed my SATA to a different set....running at 240 now lol...I'm weirded out.

245 is working now... That is so damn weird.

250 works

SATA was the problem. Thank you EVERYONE!

From 1.8 to 2.43 :D :D :D
