Weird problem with my system when overclocked.

Ok, so as some of you may know, i overclocked my processor a few weeks ago to 3Ghz from the stock 2.2Ghz, however, i backed it down because the amount of voltage that it needed and the amount of heat it was producing was not practical for every day use. So i backed it down to 2.7Ghz noting that, that seemed to be a good compromise of stability and performance.

Well, recently i added a new hard drive and a floppy disk drive to my system and when i started up the computer again, i noticed right off the bat that when it got to the windows logon screen it would imediatly blue screen. Then after i tried a few more times it booted stabily and loged in and then when i would start a program, i would crash the system. I also noted that my temps of my system seem to have changed a lot after the addition of the new components. The weird thing is, is they dropped! Something tells me something in my mobo got messed up somehow or that my PSU isnt adiquate enough anymore to supply the power output that i need.

Can anyone confirm these thoughts or do you have any other ideas as to a cause to this?

redo ur overclock.
when overclock and u isntall some new hardware, sometimes that causes to crash. every component is overclock when u overclock.

What kind of HD? Sata or IDE?

Perhaps the port you plugged it into isn't locked... Overclocking the PCI bus will cause major blue screens if said bus is in use.

Actually, i fixed it, it was what the first guy said, apparently my bios just didnt agree with the new addition.

I just reset the bios, and then started it up at 2.2Ghz, rebooted and changed the frequencies back, all is good. Thanks for the help guys.

No, not really. Used to be that way though.
here's the answer from the OP, and proves it's not, "used to be that way thoug."
It depends on ur BOARD and its BIOS. some board are locked some are to be manually set to lock the freqs.
