Weird Problem With MX1000

Just noticed this a few minutes ago.

You know when you get to the edge of the mouse pad and you pick up the mouse to move it back to the center? Well when mine is in midair, the cursor will randomly jump way off from where it was when I picked it up. Doesn't happen everytime, but is very annoying and makes gaming nearly impossible.

And it was working fine last night.

Ideas?

OK, I found the culprit - a tiny piece of thread or something had found its way into the hole where the laser comes out. Fished it out with a paperclip and sprayed some air in there for good measure. Seems to be working now.

Get a big mousepad!
I had a the same problem with my MX510 and I got a new mousepad (Steelpad Qck, IMHO very cool thing) and now everything is fine.

A very good mousepad, in my opinion! I had a ratpad, but it wore out in like 2 months . In reference to the problem, it happens with any optical mouse, laser included. Canned air = teh r0xx0r; several-gallon air compressor = h0ly shyt

me? I had a MX700 before and I didn't notice any lag with either. I have more frags now, but it's because I've been playing longer
