Weird problem with displayport/5970

(5970 with a dell u2311h)

-For some reason the only way I can get displayport to work is if I use a dvi cable to boot into windows then switch to the displayport cable. If I boot only with the displayport cable nothing shows on screen and the fan stays at 100% speed until I shut down.


What is going on? Is it the monitor, cables, or card?
 
Try turning off autoselect on the input selection screen on the monitor itself. There has been some issues with this screen and input. :)

Set it manually to displayport.
 
I just did that and no luck. I even turned it off and unplugged the power then manually set it to displayport before I turned on the system but it still doesn't detect the video card. Not sure if I should rma the monitor or just deal with it...
