I had my system admin install the newest version (6.23) of F@H on my computer and for some reason, the user control panel keeps popping up, asking for a name and a team number. Every time i put in my name and team number and click ok, it'll pop again with the name as anonymous. It doesn't seem to save the settings. Also, it didn't show up in my start>program files tab. An older version, 5.03, worked just fine. The computer is a HP Compaq dc5700 SFF.
Any ideas? Do I have to put in a passkey or something?

I wonder if it's a permissons issue?

Have you tried starting it as admin (just to configure it)? I assume (major assumption on my part), that once configured, you could then restart (not as admin) and it should be fine.

Have the admin try putting Full read/write/full control access for your user name on the F@H directory and files in the C:\Program Files\Folding@home and C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu

Good luck

Well, he tried running the program as administrator but didn't change the read/write access. The problem with the control panel is solved, and the system tray icon has been switching from fetching work, waiting for packets, received work, and that's about it. The viewer doesn't work either, so I'm assuming that he's just gonna have to change the read/write access?

Yeah I would have him still do what I suggested in my last post.
Plus I would have him check to see if it can get out through the firewall.

Thanks. Is the C:\users... for vista? This machine's on XP so if i'm looking for the app data that'd be in documents and setting, right?
