Weird Problem....Help?

Something weird had started to happen with my computer recently. It doesn't happen all the time, but enuff to be annoying.

After being idle for a little while (note: this doesn't always happen, it is pretty random) the monitor goes black and the computer cannot be turned off or reset... and nothing can be done with the monitor, unplugging doesn't work, etc.

My net connection (cable) also goes down when this happens.

I have to turn the PSU off to restart the computer.

Any ideas on what's wrong and how it can be fixed?

did you check your power management settings?

Right click on desktop

Properties --> Screen Saver --> Power --> Hibernate

Uncheck hibernate

That may be the cause.

hmm, i did it, but hibernate already said Never....also, why would it only happen sometimes if it were on hibernate?

some bios have power managament too check there as well.

what are your system specs?

Yeah what are your system specs and you psu amps on the 12 volt rail?. I had this problem when OCing a 6800nu.
