Weird PC Behavior: Trap Error

I think my system just about died or something.

Basically this is whats happening: I booted up my desktop this morning(been using my laptop more than the desktop so I haven't touched it in days). It boots up fine. It then reboots for no reason and after the bios screen, it gives a wierd black screen of death: Trap 0000000006. So I reboot. Now after the bios screen I get nothing but black. If I reboot a few times I can finally get to windows but then it reboots on its own and gives me the black screen again. It won't even let me boot from a CD.

Anyone have any recomendations on what or how to test my system to see whats going on? or rather, anyone gone through this? I suspect hardware failure but I'm stumped on what died. I may have to do my planned upgrade sooner than I expected
