Weird Office Problem

I actually had to uninstall Office because of this, but even after doing that this problem keeps popping up. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to get rid of it?

Basically, at random times when I move my mouse, a little green circle shows up on my computer near the mouse pointer; it has all the Office icons in it (even though Office is now uninstalled), it also has the Address Book icon and the New Task icon in it, all just within the outer edge of the circle. There's an green A in the middle of the circle. The circle itself is sort of blue-green colored. Also, there's a yellow dot next to whatever icon is selected. When I had Office installed, if I left clicked on it, whatever program's icon the mouse was on would start up-- since I've deleted most of these programs, that doesnt happen anymore, so now left clicking makes the circle go away (unless it's on Address Book or New Task, in which case those start up.) Right clicking also makes the circle go away. It's really annoying and pops up quite frequently and I cant move the mouse pointer outside the circle until I click on it, can anyone help me get rid of this thing? I have zone alarm firewall, avast antivirus and malware bytes antimalware and none of them are detecting anything wrong on my computer.

is there any possibility that it's a shortcut option offered as a suite for a piece of hardware you have? say your motherboard or mouse?

Well, it started happening a few months ago. And most of my hardware is a year or two old. Im racking my brain trying to think what it might be. I see the A in the middle and keep thinking it belongs to a program that starts with "A" So then I went to ADD/REMOVE and removed a few things, but none of them were it :(

It used to happen only once in a long time, but for some reason it's popping up a lot more now-- so I can't really ignore it anymore.

I could be off base but it looks like something associated with your Asrock motherboard.

are there any additional options for the "launch pad"?

Thanks for all your help, Im looking into that right now. The options on the launch pad thing are basically what you see in the image above. It's all the Office programs (including Office Finder and New Appointment) plus the Address Book and the New Task icon. When I went into Add/Remove programs, I wasn't able to find anything from Asus in there, so I'm stumped on how to get rid of this thing :(

No, it just selects whatever program the yellow dot is next to. The funny thing is, that circular toolbar thing popped up right as I saw your post. It's popped up 3-4 times since I started this thread.

Thanks for the help. Does this look like circle dock? I went into Task Manager and couldnt see circle dock in there anywhere and I looked in MSCONFIG also. If you can help me uninstall this thing, I'll be eternally grateful, this thing is driving me crazy with how often its popping up whenever I move my mouse too fast.

you sure it's not a setting for your mouse? I know with microsoft mice if you plop it down twice all your windows become tiled.

Thanks, Im wondering if I should uninstall the Revoltec drivers and just go back to the generic MS drivers. Maybe it came bundled with the Fightmouse Advanced driver? I looked under the mouse settings in the control panel and all it has in there are options for the wheel, the two buttons and the speed settings for the mouse.

I selected the option where the icon doesnt load into the task bar on start up, but that didnt help at all, so Im thinking I should uninstall the mouse software and see what that does.

I havent seen it come back yet-- will wait to make sure. Thanks for the help, guys! :)

BTW I was using an older version of Office-- Office XP. I installed Open Office 3.3, do you guys think I should reinstall Office XP again or is Open Office 3.3 better than an older version of Office? It's called Office XP with FrontPage.

It's all your own personal preferenece. Use it; see which one you like better. Open Office might be compatible with newer file formats that Office XP might not understand, if thats important to you...
