Weird Keyboard/USB Problem in Vista

Hey guys, I recently upgraded to vista and am having a really weird problem with my keyboard/usb devices. When I startup my computer the keyboard works up until vista starts loading (i.e. I can get to bios/boot menus fine) however once I get into vista my keyboard doesn't work at all and my ipod doesn't get connected either, however my usb mouse is completely fine. Well after messing around a little bit I discovered that hibernating my computer would make everything work perfectly again. I was wondering if anyone has ran into this before, I did a lot of searching on google and couldn't find anything.

All my drivers are up to date including mobo/keyboard

The keyboard is a Z-board Merc btw.

Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?

Thanks for any replies.
