i have Vista running in a virtual machine and for testing purposes I need to keep IE6 installed on my main PC; so i wanted to make sure this was an IE7 issue and not something with the virtual machine.
Basically i noticed that fonts in IE7 will NOT render in ClearType if your stylesheet uses:
filter: alpha(opacity=xx)
Instead it renders the old jagged fonts with no smoothing applied. This happens even if the machine is set to display fonts using ClearType.
can anyone try this out on their Vista machine (or XP running IE7) with ClearType ENABLED to see if this happens for you too?
Thanx!!
oops! forgot to add some demo pages
with filter style applied

with no filter applied
