okay i have a weird issue with my i5-3570k. A cable got stuck in cpu fan and it ran for like 20 minutes like that. It was over the tjmax but it didn't shut off. Now my first core is cooler than than my other cores and my second core is running 3 degrees hotter than it normally would and any time I run a game that only uses the first core it gets choppy.

Best guess is that your thermal paste may have gotten a bit runny and moved around a bit.

That'll cause inconsistent heat transfer across cores.

Reapply and you'll most likely be fine.

I'm using the stock cooler that came with my cpu.

You will ned to remove it, clean off the CPU and the heatsink, and re apply some thermal paste. I would recommend this no matter what because of the situation, although it may not remedy the temperature differential.
