Weird colour issue

This morning, my monitor was working perfectly fine. This afternoon, after leaving it on all day, I returned to find it... odd. Colours are displayed incorrectly, making everything look dark and blotchy. The Lagom calibration test shows the problem well, even with the crappy iphone camera:

Additionally, the display now has a HUGE ghosting problem. Anything with a high contrast (e.g. a white text box on a black page) will still show for a significant amount of time afterwards (several minutes at least).
My monitor is a HP l2335 (S-IPS panel).I've tried swapping GPU ports and using different cables (VGA and DVI), running a factory reset. but nothing makes a difference, so the problem is almost certainly on the monitor end.
Is this a case of "Your screen's dead, enjoy spending £200 on a new one", or is this fixable?

Unfortunately, the L2335s had some serious issues. I think you better start looking for a new monitor. Try to do some research this time, as those L2335s were known to have a pink discoloration around the edges of the screen, among other less notable problems.

It did have a very slight discolouration, only there if you looked closely on a blank white screen, but I picked it up about 3 years or so ago for a bargain (£170, less than even 24" TN panels were going for at the time), and apart from having to use Reduced Blanking mode for DVI it's been working fine until now. I definitely do my research if it's something I'm going to be looking at for several hours a day!
I opened it up to see if anything had let out it's magic blue smoke, but the shield seems to be stuck down with something in addition to the screws, and I wasn't up to pulling everything apart and removing the panel itself to get to it via the other side. No sign of any obvious damage, though I did find a spare HP badge rattling around inside.
Looks like a new IPS/PVA screen will be at least £300 nowadays, which is a pity. I much prefer them to TN panels.
